Contacting Gentosha Comics

Please let me know if this isn't allowed.

In regards to the Stu Levy/ Possible Tokyopop release of Hetalia volume 3 in the U.S.:

Whether or not you love the idea or hate it (I know my emotions are conflicted on the matter), I feel that Gentosha, the company publishing Hetalia, should hear your voice.

If you want to contact the company and give them your opinion on the possibility of Stu/Tokyopop releasing a limited run of volume 3 and/or 4, here is the email address off their website:

comics@gentosha-comics.net

Stu is very good at making things sound good for him (1k "likes" on a FB that has 83k followers isn't really a lot), but I think if enough people contact the publisher directly, they'll know what the US fans really think.

So share your thoughts! ♥

I don't know. I mean there's Gentosha in Japan and Tokyopop in America.
Personally, I think Gentosha wouldn't give a damn about what Tokyopop/Stu are doing.

Of course they sell the licence but I bet Tokyopop payed well so hey.

That's the thing, Tokyopop paid well. Tokyopop is no longer a functioning company. If they somehow still control the distribution of Hetalia, whatever their "limited" release it, I don't think it would be a profitable business venture for Gentosha either.

I think, perhaps, if we can show there's more interest in Hetalia than what Tokyopop can provide through this venture, Gentosha might consider the other side of the coin.

He already said the release would be more limited than the first two books, but there's no word on reprints of the first two books and people DO still want those... How could it possible match the demands of fans if it's going to more limited than books people are still trying to get a hold of? I don't understand.

I don't think there's any harm in contacting Gentosha, a company that Levy can't even mention by name (this bothers me terribly for some reason). Maybe Gentosha Comics won't care, but at least I can try. I was typing one up yesterday, but I wanted to wait to see if we got anymore info. XD

Not to mention the outrage it'd cause. Stu pretty much said he'd only do limited release of Hetalia, and I know there are other popular manga titles Tokyopop put into jeopardy by shutting down their NA office.

It's just bad all around for all fans.

Well if you do have a worry about that, then simply e-mail them from a business standpoint. Just emphasize that letting Tokyopop continue to publish Hetalia would be a bad deal, which it is, and that they shouldn't go through with this plan.

I'm personally using this tactic in my e-mail. Hope everyone else decides to send an e-mail!

Well in the end I don't really care that much about it.
As I said, Tokyopop bought the licence, if this expires Gentosha will sell it to another company.

I also hope that many people will send e-mails. Maybe they really will do something about that.
It's just that I really think Gentosha doesn't give a damn. They got their money.

Gentosha has nothing to do with this issue, as it doesn't have any say over whatever Tokyopop or any other American company does with the rights they've paid for already.
