And oh god I can never get over the fact that if you were in that Hot Topic, Hima could have been standing RIGHT NEXT TO YOU and you wouldn't even know! And I normally don't really like Hot Topic too much but that entrance is beautiful.

I think it's kinda interesting, seeing as how they don't have Hot Topic in Japan, yet they still watch South Park in Japan, so it's like he was thinking "Wow, to be here (at Hot Topic) in person..!" since he is a South Park fan XD

Folks on Tumblr are saying he's in New York for a month, but for some reason imagining Himaruya-sensei at a Hot Topic kind of amuses me...I don't know why though XD

but man, how cool would it be if he got to go on a cross-country road trip to check out other states? (since he likes going to New York, I'd love to see how he'd react from seeing the rest of America XD)

Man I wish someone noticed him. My sis says you aren't allowed to take pictures in Hot Topic so he must have stood out like a sore thumb. Man I wish I was in there! Google says that Hima said under the shirt picture: 紛Re込N-dollar something! So either it was expensive or cheap for him I don't know. Google Fail! Anyway I am hoping he has a good time in New York again.

Well Hot Topic does have some anime related stuff in there so it's not too strange. I saw Onegai My Melody merchandize once and my sis bought me Kuromi socks and a notepad. Hetalia merch should show up somewhere mainstream not just at cons or online!

It's not really because it's strange, but because it was inevitable and it's finally here. We are now one of those fandoms. The bigguns.

I don't know, I've watched this fandom grow from several posts a day in an online community to merchandise being sold in a commercially-successful, mainstream store. It all happened so fast.
