A few clarifications:
In the last panel, it's not Santa Claus but Sinterklaas, the Dutch version of Saint Nicholas.
And it looks like the selling of weapons to the enemies took place during the Eighty years war (1568–1648) and not the Franco-Dutch one in 17th century. Thanks for pointing it out,mertseguer
