I think it's the colors. Usually he uses warm colors, but he used mostly cold colors!

I really love this picture though, probably one of my favorite he's done with America. The sky really isn't the limit, right America? <3 I love how he has been doing rather reflective daylight images, they are very inspiring and sunny. Probably a nice offset to what he has been experiencing as of late. Reach for the stars, Himaruya.

This is really a good picture of America. When I saw the plane I thought Himaruya was trying to avoid religious undertones by saying Cripes Almighty instead of God Almighty but after looking it up I realized it was a real plane! Apparently, a fighter pilot named George Preddy would place the name Cripes Almighty on the planes he flew for luck. The planes he flew were P-51's and used in WW1 and WW2. He is considered to be the 6th greatest American fighter pilot.
Poo I am American and I never heard of this guy. I feel bad.

FYI, the 'Cripes A'mighty' is an homage to flying ace George Preddy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Preddy), who always had that written on his planes. He was the top P-51 Mustang ace of WWII, and the sixth top American ace of all time. This is his most famous plane, the Christ A'Mighty 3rd (http://www.ww2incolor.com/us-air-force/Preddy.html).

No one can say that Himaruya-san doesn't do his research...
