[Fanart] Strega Nona
This time I come bearing ridiculous art, because apparently all I draw is silly cross-over-ish stuff.
Title: Strega Nona
Artist:
sobdasha
Characters: fem!South Italy, Spain
Pairings: None
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Description: Anybody remember Tomie dePaola's Strega Nona from their childhood? Now with 100% more Hetalia.
So the other day I vaguely recalled that there had been a book in my childhood, by some guy with a distinct and really awesome art style, that involved a magic pasta pot. And since obviously magic pasta pots + Italies = FTW potential, I went Googling, and thus I rediscovered Tomie dePaola's Strega Nona. In addition to that, I realized that Strega Nona came from Calabria, and there was also Big Anthony who didn't pay attention in the story, and thusI was egged on by a certain someone until this inevitably occurred.
My art is not nearly as charming as dePaola's, but please enjoy fem!Romano as a scowly Strega Nona, and Spain as BigAnthony Antonio.
Lineart version:

A shaded versionthough I kinda suspect I just ended up making it too busy and cluttered:

Drawing those mountains of pastawas really a pain reminds me of those kid menus from Pasta House.

Think how much more convenient it would have been for North Italy if he'd had the magic pasta pot in the WWII strips...

I always encourage procrastinating and taking breaks from studying! Especially for such a worthy causeno subject

is incoherent
ahhhh, and I like the shaded version as well <3. I don't think it looks to cluttery, at least. Granny Romano and Village Idiot Antonio is the best kind of art there is.
I should check updates on time more often :xRe: is incoherent
The children's section of the library totally has all kinds of awesome books, even if I have to crouch down even to see the top shelf. You should do it~
