[fic] A Friendly Hate: Engagement

Title: A Friendly Hate (Title will probably change, this was the best I could think of at the moment. Suggestions?)
Part I: Engagement
Chapter 1/19(?)
Pairing: This chapter - Prussia/Canada, In General - America/Prussia, Austria/Hungary, Austria/Germany, others
Rating: M (Maybe R-15 in this chapter, but it certainly goes up), for sexual situations and language
Word Count: As one of the shorter chapters, this one only has 853 words.
Chapter Summary: Right before his brother is to be wed, America realizes that he has a real probablem with homosexuality and makes it his life mission to save his brother.
Notes: This is strongly based off of an RP, though none of the actual text from that RP was used here. Situations and characters were changed to make the story make more sense. To the other members of that RP: Duuuude. I know it's different than how that RP went down, but without the context, a lot of that doesn't make sense. That, and I wanted to change up some stuff on my own.

Part I: Engagement

Two nights before Canada and Prussia’s wedding, America realizes something. He realizes that there is no way in hell he is ok with his brother marrying that psychopathic Prussian, and he must, as a hero, do anything in his power to stop it.

This realization is brought about by two things. First off, homosexuality is wrong no matter how he looks at it. Many of his churches say this, so it must be true. Besides, only Europeans are ok with gay people, and God knows Europeans are all gay. They’re a useless bunch, he decides, and he’s been saving their asses since World War II. Being gay makes one weak, he thinks, and Canada can’t be weak. Not as strong as America, sure, but a weak brother looks bad for him, and as much as America loves being the hero, he can’t watch Canada all the time. Sometimes Canada will have to be strong for himself.

The second thing is that married people suck. He’s watched enough movies to know that as soon as someone gets married, the social life goes down to nothing. As much as he loves Twilight, he knows that Bella has no real friends after she meets Edward. She only has the Cullen’s. Not even her own father gets her attention. America gets lonely easily, and losing Canada to a vampire like that damn albino would be devastating. The thought of Canada wasting his time with anyone but him is upsetting. They were brothers, weren’t they? Didn’t family come first?

(Alfred chose to ignore his own homosexual urges, including his own nightly habit of jerking off to images of himself and his brother doing things that he could not imagine ever happening in the real world. He’d admitted to himself that he was self-centered and loved nothing more than look down across his own body and brush his fingers over his abs and plains. One could do no better than perfect, after all, and Mattie was a close second to perfection.)

So he does what every self-respecting, red-blooded American man would do. He breaks into his brother’s house just after 6 a.m. and interrupts the ritualistic morning sex. It’s too early for him to become embarrassed by the moans and grunts he hears from the door. America is on a mission and he drags Prussia away and calls Canada a God-hating pussy fag. America’s eyes linger on Prussia’s curved erection and on Canada’s flushed cheeks for just a moment before he flings a blanket at his brother. Canada struggles to cover his own sweat-silked body and frantically yells and Prussia to get that American idiot out of their bedroom. Prussia doesn't care about nudity or indecency, and saunters about the room with his hard-on out for Canada and America to ogle.

Canada insists that hating God has nothing to do with it and “Why can’t you be happy for me?” America doesn’t answer, but instead asks which one of the happy couple will be wearing the dress. Canada sputters and pulls on his boxers.

Less than concerned about the whole issue, Prussia proposes a threesome. America looks enough like Canada that it wouldn’t really be cheating, or so he insists.

Canada, on the other hand, is completely opposed to his brother getting involved in any of this, and starts to cry. He tells America to stay the hell away from the wedding, and that he’ll find a different best man, preferably on that actually cares about his happiness. “It’s all about you, isn’t it?” He sobs, “I finally found someone who cares about me, me! And you just can’t stand it!” He buries his face in his hands and weeps. America thinks this is even more gay, but is hurt by his exclusion from the wedding.

Rather than put up anymore abuse to his fiancé, Prussia finally tells America to leave Canada alone and to pick on some other deserving country. “Go fight with Austria or something! Canada doesn’t deserve this shit!” He bares his teeth at America, “He’s your fucking brother and you still treat him like this?” He shoves at the massive nation and demands that he leaves now before his “five meters” are put to good use.

(In this moment, Gilbert realized that as much as he loved Matt, the Canadian was not what he needed. Mattie would never stand up for himself, he would never fight back. Even if his body was strong, Mattie was weak inside. Gilbert would be allowed to run him over, and God knows that when Gilbert was given free range, terrible things happened.)

America eventually leaves and can’t figure out for the life of him why Canada is upset. He’d only been trying to save him from eternal damnation and endless mocking from the other nations. He wants Canada to be strong like him, a sidekick worthy to his hero. America thinks Canada is being obstinate. “Canada has a way of being obstinate without doing anything,” America muses, “He cries and kicks and screams, but ultimately, I do all the work.”

He vows to open Canada’s eyes before the wedding.
