Hetalia Cosplay Reccomendations?

So I guess you could say seeing all these Hetalia Day pictures has made me more interested in Hetalia cosplay.  Trouble is, it's hard for me to decide [as you know, so many characters!].  Now, if my parents were normal, I'd probably just go as one of my favorite characters or what not.  But there's a problem.
My mother only allows me to cosplay female characters.


Now of course, they don't have to be 'female', but they have to look enough like a girl for me to get the okay.  [For example I have a chibitalia cosplay, and my sister has the trap!ciel in a dress from kuroshitsuji].

Here's some of the costumes I was thinking about:
France from Austrian Succession
Pirate England
Female Sweden [Just Sweden with long hair?]
Female Canada
Female England
Monaco
Belgium

What do you guys think?  I want to do something special, eg, not just Hungary.

Any version of China is very feminine. XD Actually, my parents still think he is a girl.

Japan has a rather feminine haircut as well, it's not short like most of the boys, more of a bob style. You could cosplay him in anything traditional. That would look really lovely!

Finland looks a little feminine as well. While his hair is short, the uniform is a very light blue, which your parents may associate more with girls?

Now if you wanted to cosplay a fem version of one of them, Fem!Prussia would be really cool! You'd just buy or make the regular uniform and get a long white wig!

I know it's a bit racist, but I don't think I'd be able to do any of the Asian characters OTL I hope you understand what I mean...

As above, Nyotalia characters~ The designs are all really cute, and even made up Nyotalia designs for others (I did Greece).

Other effeminate-looking characters would probably be

Lithuania
Poland (durrr)
China
Finland
Norway
Latvia
Canada

And I think you'd make a really good Belgium, actually!

Oh! I was FemCanada for Hetalia Day! I've seen her colored with pink and white but got red fabric instead cuz I had someone be MaleCanada and I wanted to match X3

Believe me, I don't understand it either. My dad doesn't have a problem with it (he figures that it's just a costume, so why not?) but my mom is kind of... trying to make me a pretty girl all the time....

I'm kind of in the same boat as you are... My parents don't care either way, but cosplaying male characters is very awkward for me because I have a very feminine face & body and look like a girly man, and dressing up as a man is slightly weird for me. ):
Nyotalia characters are a good go, though. :) And you can have a bit more leeway with the ones that haven't been officially drawn yet!

Lol that's how I cosplay! I look at the characters and ask myself "Can I wear this in public?"

But cutting out and sewing the maples leaves were a bit difficult ^^;;

I made it from scratch. It's made out of felt so it's soft and warm. It has a hood and a zipper too!

True ): That's what worries me too sometimes lol. You could try adding an accessory with the colors or patterns of the country you're doing maybe. :) I'm trying a nyotalia Austria right now, and making a hair pin with red and white striped ribbon, for example.

I think theres a few you could try.

I suggest Germania, your hair (or is it a blonde wig?) seems like it could match him very well. He does look rather feminine also.
England, either chibirisu or normal
Chibitalia, chibi romano
Hungary, either chibi or normal.
China, he looks rather female.
Canada, any look really if you go by the manga art Canada and not the anime one. =)

You'd make a cute Taiwan ~ You'd just need to use eyeliner and cat - eye it ~

(Okay, LJ sucks. Yes it was. But her hair color is a bit unknown, since it was brown one time, but blonde as well)

Her blouse is a bright rose while her ribbon and the skirt a somewhat pink.
