Subs going to be late again...

 I'm just posting to say I'm sorry, the subs are going to come out on Friday at the earliest, late Saturday latest.

Sorry, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday I was watching/finishing Neon Genesis Evangelion/doing homework.  Today I have my grandparents over, so I won't be able to do like anything till 8, which is then homework, not subbing.

Again, I'm truly sorry, next week hopefully won't be so bad.

Anything you want specifically to make up for the wait?

Also, if you have the time, WATCH EVANGELION.... Its a very very cool anime, that mindf**ks you... And if you see End of Evangelion, in multiple ways.  That is one down on my list of anime to watch... 

Also, if you haven't already, begin following Bakuman. There are only 3 episodes out in Japan at the moment, so it's easy to catch up on it.  It's an anime based on a manga about 2 kid's journey to make a manga.  Hold the Xzibit jokes please.  But trust me, it's GREAT.

Also, if you don't mind fanservice, and LOTS of it, try and keep up with Panty and Stocking With Garterbelt. It's from Gainax (FLCL, Evangelion, Gurren Laggan, Hanamaru Kindergarten), and is just weirdly funny.

Hahaha glad someone is okay with it! I have been meaning to watch it for a year... I've seen a bunch of other Gainax stuff before it (FLCL and Gurren) but I needed to see it. So glad I did. Now to rewatch 1.11 and watch 2.22 :DDD

Oh man, I recently rewatched the entire series myself.
overcome with SO much nostalgia, and the series really has a place in my heart, even though it leaves me cold and confused sometimes. When that happens I picture Kaworu and everything gets better for me ehehehehe

I have yet to watch the rebuild stuff, but I hear good things about it~

Evangelion. I haven't seen it for YEARS since the time I saw the original series. ;o; I adored it.

I'm actually going to purchase the 4 remake movies, inclusing the alternative ending episode DVDs and whatever I missed since I need to rewatch it. xD

The Neon Genesis Evangelion Platinum:Perfect Collection will consist of the previously available Platinum releases of Eva[not the thinpack collection versions that were stripped of extras, but the single release versions, which had a good number of extra features].
Also, this Evangelion set does not have the informative booklets from the individual "Neon Evangelion Genesis: Platinum" DVD volumes. Too bad, as those contained a lot of interesting trivia and info on the show.
The only new thing about this is the cool-looking tin that houses the individual DVDs. It's up to you to decide whether this is enough to upgrade your collection.

Oh thanks. Pretty much the four different dvd collection versions I searched around Amazon are pretty much the same with the exemption of the 4 upcoming movie remakes (and I guess minor and unnecessary additions on them).

How come the review says four director's uncut version? I thought they were two from the End of Evangelion. Did I miss something?

That episode that introduced Kaworu did wonders for the yaoi/yuri fanfic writers. Both ShinjiXKaworu and AsukaX(that one chick she stayed the night at).

Also, (sorry, hit send too quickly) I've heard VERY good things about the Rebuild... And I bought 1.11 at Otakon at the Funi Dealer Place, and I have a HQ rip of 2.22, so I am HAPPY. Need to watch both.

Hmm... Didn't know any of this. Sounds cool.

And there will be 4 "Rebuild" movies. One and 2 have been released (in Japan, only 1 so far in America), and 3 and 4 are coming.

They're basically a re-telling of the series, with re-done scenes, and even a modified storyline starting more in 2, with new characters, and 4 will have a brand new ending.

A lot of them confuse me too, I just torrented the series (shame on me!)
when I rewatched due to the confusion of which box set I should buy D:

And I think the uncut episodes are also the remastered ones I may have watched, so the content might be either extended ending or alternate ending aaghh its all so confusing!
And the director's cut were the last four episodes, if I remember right.

I saw a few places online selling the first two rebuild movies for fairly cheap, I'll do well to catch up on them!

Haha, I don't ship or write/even read fanfic, like, at all... Haha.
I have only dipped my pinky toe into the Eva universe, I know SO little about Kaworu or even Rei.

The second is about to be released by Funi though, I would wait. But I HATE the anime's dub... Their voices are like nails on a chalkboard...
I actually haven't seen 2.22 so I don't know who Mari is even.... So those last 2 lines made no sense XD

No, no no, the "Re-build" of Eva WILL have a new ending.

That was 1.01/1.11 I believe. 2.22 is coming to theaters and then a DVD/Blu-Ray in 2011. To quote Wikipedia: "Funimation released the 1.01 version on DVD on November 17, 2009. The 1.11 DVD and Blu-ray was released on March 9, 2010."

The original series itself leaves a lot to the imagination, but some wiki pages have a lot that they've uncovered about Rei and Kaworu, it's all quite fascinating if you have the time to read about them!

I assumed that she appeared in the first of the rebuild, since there is SO much merchandise, fanart of her already. I also see her in icon posts often D:

Well let's see. There's the main series (idk how many version of that),
Death, which is just a recap;
Rebirth, which had new scenes which were added to End of Evangelion;
Death and Rebirth, repackaging of "Death" and "Rebirth";
Death (true), a directors cut of "Death"
End of Evangelion, which had a remake(extended) episode 25 and 26, with all the scenes from Rebirth, including vagina's growing out of Rei's hands and head (WTF?????) but TOTALLY worth it;
Revival of Evangelion, which was a combo Death & End of Evangelion.


Then there's the more recent Rebuild series:
Evangelion 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, which is a remake of episodes 1-6 with CG and other stuff
Evangelion 1.11 You Are (Not) Alone, DVD version which added stuff to 1.0 along with new bonus features
Evangelion 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, which remade 7-12, adding a new storyline even, with new characters
Evangelion 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance, see Evangelion 1.11

Yeah... There's a lot of movies..... And don't forget about Petit Eva, which is a slice-of-life school version of Evangelion.

I actually don't remember much of that movie. I watched episodes 1-6 then that, since I heard it was just a re-make of that. So I don't remember her.
And 2.22 has been out in Japan and subbed for over a year, so that's why.

OOOOHHH THAT'S THE PINK JUMPSUIT!!!!!!! I was looking for her in the series/End of Eva. Thanks for the info on that!!!

I have seen SO many anime before Eva, but I love it dearly... Actually my first (real, non YGO or Pokemon) anime was DN Angel, which holds a VERY special place in my heart. I still haven't seen Fruit's Basket though... It's on my Netfilx Instant Queue though.

Hehe, Fruits Basket is a good first anime. Very sweet and cute. My mom saw me watching Eva one time, and she was like '...is all this 'anime' you watch like this?!' and I was like ohhh shit shoulda watched this somewhere else XD
