Damn, that'a a lot of older brothers o_O Didn't think Himaruya would consider that many German states worth an individual mention much less say they're Germany's brothers... there's just been so many German nation-states through the years, it's ridiculous XD I wonder what Himaruya considers them to be (Dead? Absorbed into Germany? Taking a vacation?), seeing as how he didn't kill Prussia's character off even if the Kingdom of Prussia is definetely gone. Maybe they're all secretly hanging around in Germany's house, pestering him :D

So now we have a canon Brandenburg! I wonder if Himaruya's bit about Prussia "never marrying" still applies (fanon really loves Brandenburg/Prussia as a marriage thing), or if Prussia didn't count it as marriage since they're brothers, heh. That "Bad End" is great too, go figure that Prussia would do such a thing.

It's cool to get mentions of Saxony and Bavaria again too, looks like all of Germany's brothers are just as active as Prussia in the modern day.

Oh man I want official designs for the rest of Germany's apparently HUGE family so bad right now. D:

I am so excited for Brandenburg too! I wonder what his dynamic with Prussia would be like in the comic, Potsdam was the big power base for the Kingdom of Prussia after all.

I guess this rules out the "Prussia=Brandenburg state in modern day/successor to old Brandenburg" theory (it's not as common as the others but it's there since some consider the Brandenburg state to be a remnant of Prussia). It's just as well, since Brandenburg's quite important to Prussia's development.

Himaruya drew Saxony a few times and we got Bavaria as a chibi in the Austrian Succession summary, and there were a few unnamed Germanics in one of the aforementioned doodles with Saxony. Perhaps we could ask him about the German brothers? <3

If I read right, it looks to me like the other brothers are still hanging about. Of course, how many of his relatives are still around is another question XD. I've seen Japanese fans on 2ch theorize that only the current Federal States still apply (of course Prussia is an anomaly so we'll leave him out of the equation, or he was East Germany as speculation goes), while others theorize that all of them could be around. Which would make for an incredibly crowded house or neighborhood...

I'd love to see the antics of the brothers, but it would probably be best left to fanworks for now since giving them screentime over other characters would stir up a huge debate, heh.

Oh I've seen that Brandenburg=Prussia theory floating around. But I think Himaruya was going more for the whole provinces thing, yeah? Like he did for Japan and he has a character for each province/state/city like osaka, tokyo so on and so forth.
