Summary: Ludwig Beilschmidt has lived a quiet life, for the most part, working at a library in a bustling city. But then he meets Feliciano Vargas, a man with an optimistic attitude that just might help cure his pessimism. But what with his fast-talking, gun-toting brother and an Austrian that follows him around like a guard dog, is Ludwig biting off more than he can chew?
( It isn’t until he’s about 10 steps into the rain that Ludwig realizes he has forgotten his umbrella. )
