[Fanart] Assorted RoChu artstuffs
And before I knew it, I had accumulated enough RoChu arts for an art dump! (Oh man, some of these pictures are old, haha)
Title: Just some RoChu artstuffs...
Author/Artist:
fourteen_kites
Characters/Pairings: Russia/China, with a guest appearance by the rest of the Allies
Rating: G
Warnings: Image heavy?
Summary: Borscht is good and so is mathematics, the postal service is very untrustworthy, Russia changes his flag and red is just a pretty colour.
Preview:

--

I drew this one a while ago, when I first realised that the 罗宋汤 (luo song soup) I've been eating all my life was actually China's version of Russia's борщ (borscht). I really should have noticed it sooner, seeing as 'luo song' is just a derivation of the English word 'Russian'. OTL

I bet these two love mathematics. O: Meanwhile, the other Allies cannot quite believe the are watching central limit theorum being turned into something romantic.

Because the postal service in Russia (and China) is sort of... well... not great. (This is a scribble I did for a comment.)

^ I drew those for a competition the dA branch of
rochu_squad was holding. (Theme: 'Returning home after the Cold War.')

...aaand this is just something completely silly I put together. XD;
Sorry for the image heaviness! Hope some people enjoyed~ m(_ _)m

Are you from Shanghai? The soup got popular because a lot of Russians came to Shanghai.

I am from Shanghai, technically, because both my parents are. ^^ My mum makes that soup a fair bit, yeah~ ♥

Also, that cloth, it looks just like my blanket, it's a towel I guess (..); It just has that Chinese towel look.

Hahaha, yep, you're precisely right, that's a Chinese towel - well spotted! I had to put it there because my carpet is just unattractive. X'D
And thank you! I'm glad you like the red colour in that picture, especially when you usually don't. :'D ♥

Where do you buy your towels from? My mother buys them in bulk and yeah, they're made in China and our blankets too :p They look exactly like that. I have baby pics of myself lying on embroidered bed sheets too.
More guesses about your jumble, the blue and white porcelain container in the box contains the red cinnabar paste for calligraphy seals when you open it up.
Also your Chinese knots, lanterns, red packets are left over from Chinese New Year. (my house has a drawer full of red packets from banks and stuff and I think some of those are probably years old. I think you got one of those from an insurance company?)Is the ornament with the golden fish saying 年年有鱼 or something punnish like that XD
When I was a kid, we used to make tacky lanterns from red packets in class for New Year. Did you ever do that? :'D
Final guess, is your surname 周?Like Jay Chou.

Haha, we've had those towels for so long I don't remember where exactly they came from anymore. :'D Definitely China though - all our bedsheets too. (I guess more recently we just get them from places like Carrefour. XD) Also quilts - though we still use the ones which you have to sew up the covers yourself every winter.
And correct again! That's red paste in the porcelain container. ♥ And red packets that I accumulated over the years, indeed~ (Some of them were free, so I wouldn't be surprised if they were from an insurance company, yeah :P). Plus the fish ornament does say 年年有鱼! Though 鱼 is replaced by the golden fish to make it even more punny. XD
Hahaha, I never did that, actually! Making lanterns from red packets, I mean - well, I grew up in a Western country, so that's probably why. X'D
...And how did you guess my surname. I haven't put my name any-- oh wait! It's in that photo, isn't it, from the calligraphy seal? But yeah, it's 周, a very common one. XD (May I ask what yours is...? You don't have to, I was just curious since you're guessing so much correctly about me. :'D)

So cute! Now, I want one of my own too except that I want a good one if I have one carved and that would cost a good sum.
no subject
♥ That would be awesome, if you had one~ Mine was pretty cheap, actually (from memory) but then again it probably isn't very good quality. XD
