Pairing: None, although you could certainly take it as Canada/America with hints of England/America.
Word Count: 5,150.
Warnings: Some angst. Alternate Reality, of a sort. Really, really, astoundingly horrid abuse of past/present tense.
Summary: America vanishes after the Civil War, leading everyone to believe he has died. Only Canada refuses to believe; he knows his brother is somewhere out there, and he’s going to find him.
Author Notes: This is something I started writing for the Hetalia kink meme and then never finished it. Well, it’s finished now.
( 'No.' England had snarled when Canada had tried to question him about it, fingers clenching the handle of the teacup. 'I do /not/ think America is alive. Stop it with that nonsense. The world's a better place without him anyway.' )
