Fanfiction - Germany/Italy - Dear Germany 7/?
Sorry it took a little longer to get this one out. I'm a little ahead of myself with the writing now so it should be smoother.

Dear Italy,
I hope this letter finds you well and arrives before you leave Japan’s house. I have had quite a busy few days. It seems that my boss has taken my newfound desire to take on more work as the perfect opportunity to pass a few projects she’s been holding back over to me. Of course, I am thankful for the work and anything I can do for my people I will do without hesitation; however I had hoped to write to you sooner to be sure not to miss you.
Italy, please be careful with Japan. You know how private he is. I suppose it’s too late to be saying this to you now but I will be most upset if you return married to Japan as you have acted inappropriately towards him. You know he takes contact much more seriously than you do so please be careful to respect his culture and keep your distance when it is required. You should also remember to respect his traditions and be quiet and peaceful in his house. I would recommend, however, asking him to take you to a hot spring. I find them most relaxing.
I am glad to hear you enjoyed your stay with Hungary. I should have known you wouldn’t bother her, it’s nice to hear you had fun. You have told me about your childhood before, though it was some time ago. I have never seen the dress though, I’m sure we will take good care of it. Bring it when you come home.
I must admit now that I’m getting very lonely without you here. I solemnly promise to you, Italy, that I won’t make bets with Prussia again. I don’t know what possessed me to make this bet. Any fool could see it would only end badly. Still, eleven more days and you’ll be free to come home. I already told me boss I will need to be undisturbed from the first through the fifth of April, so hopefully we will have some time, though that weekend if Easter so you will no doubt wish to go to church. This can be readily accommodated. However, I am looking forward to spending a length of time alone with you again.
France came to visit yesterday also, adding to the burden of my work. If I was a lesser man I would suspect he came here only to taunt me with your absence and the fact that he has officially seen you more recently then I have. He made some comments about you which were frankly pornographic and which I will not repeat here before he left. It is clear that he is one of Prussia’s friends and taking his side in this wager.
I’m not sure what else to say, Italy. I could tell you about my work but I know that always bores you. You know I’m not very good with words, thinking what to write in these letters is always on my mind, and still it’s hard to commit to paper. I suppose the important matters to communicate are that you are deeply missed and that I do love you. Please update me on your travel plans.

Germany!
Your letter just got to me again! It must be lucky! I’m at my own house now. Romano is getting ready for Easter and he came and yelled at my for being lazy and not helping him even though I don’t have you as an excuse so I had to come home and help him get ready. I really love Easter, though I love Christmas more. But Easter is closer.
Germany, you need to tell your boss when she’s giving you too much work. I always tell me boss when he’s giving me too much work. He gets kind of mad about it sometimes but as long as the really important things get done then it’s ok. I don’t want Germany to get ill when I’m not there to take care of him because he’s working too hard. Remember to get lots of rest and eat some really nice food like pasta. I know Germany works so hard so much, if he’s saying he’s got too much work then it must be a LOT of work.
Anyway, I don’t want to talk about work! There’s a lot of work at my house right now and it’s kind of boring. It’s not so bad being back here now that it’s been a while. I think I’m starting to get used to it, but I’d still rather be back with Germany. Still, I haven’t been in the house alone yet, and I’ve only been here for a few hours so I haven’t been here for a night yet. I hope it doesn’t get too scary when it gets dark or Romano will make fun of me.
I had a really good visit with Japan. He took me to some hot springs. It seems weird that a guy who’s so uptight has public baths. I mean, he gets really weird when I take of my clothes outside the bath but inside it he wandered around naked too. It was really strange. I loved the springs though. They were so much fun! We went to this one in the mountains and there were lots of really pretty girls but Japan got mad when I mentioned them and said you not being there was no reason to be unfaithful but it’s not unfaithful if I just look, right Germany? Anyway, there were lots of pretty boys too but Japan got really mad when I said that, he said it was really inappropriate to say something like that in the men’s bath, but Japanese guys are really cute, I think. Not as good as Germany, of course. Still, it made me want to go home even more so I can see Germany again. Little sneaked visits aren’t good enough. I want to stay in Germany’s bed for an entire week and now get out so you have to promise me that you’ll take some time off after Easter too so I won’t be so busy.
Don’t worry about Hungary’s dress, I knew you’d like it so I packed it away safe in my box of things to bring to you. I’ve been making a parcel of really great things for Germany from all the places I’ve been, I hope you love it.
Anyway, I’d better go post this before Romano pesters me to help him again.

One teeny, teeny quibble? Since the fic is taking place in March 2010, Germany's boss is actually Angela Merkel--so the boss giving him more work would be a she, not a he.
