Calling all Canada Cosplayers: Help!

I'm going to be cosplaying Canada pretty soon, but I'm having some trouble thinking of how to make an ahoge. I want to try to make one that will stick up right and still look good and preferably like hair. I've heard pipe cleaners and pliable metal as common materials, but I don't think either of those would work very well. Does anyone have any better ideas? Dx
