Mochi for Haiti
In order to raise money for relief efforts in Haiti after the devastating earthquake there on Tuesday, I have two different listings up on ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
help_haiti for character mochi. I'm advertising my listings here since the mochi versions of the Hetalia characters are so popular with the fandom.
One listing is in the Food section of the general auction (which ends on Wednesday Jan. 20) here, for up to 10 character mochi of your choice with the starting bid at $10. The other listing is in the Lightning Round (which is like eBay's Buy It Now) here for 2 mochi characters of your choice for a minimum donation of $5.
For those of you who are not familiar with fandom charity auctions, the payment for items purchased in the auction does NOT go to the person offering the item, but rather to the designated charitable organizations. Even if you aren't interested in mochi, please take a look at the auction offerings; even if you aren't interested in the auction, please consider donating to one of the listed charities. J Smooth of Ill Doctrine has a wonderful explanation of the historical and contemporary relevance of Haiti and why our concern should also extend far beyond immediate relief for the earthquake.
