I… I-I can’t stand him.
The sun shown dimly through the light overcast in the sky, the crisp early winter air traveling through the Canadian land on the seeming normal day. The leaves that refused to leave their host rustled against the cold breeze along with the shrubbery that surrounded the path to the capital’s main household of the personification of the country itself.
Following down that path, was the young cowering personifiction of Latvia, Raivis Galante. Sent on an errand from his master to give a few personal papers to the Canadian, Raivis had been sent out alone without the help from his brothers. Claimed that this was a job of solo responsibility.
Oh yes, that was a very good idea.
Considering that his ticket was stolen at the airport which had to have him pay for the tickets with his own money, then having a bad seat, his luggage having been lost all ready, having gotten completely lost after the cab drivers car had broken down without any source of help other wise, leaving so that he missed the check out time for the hotel so at night he had to just keep walking in the below freezing weather so not to fall asleep and die. Plus this had made him terribly late, which made him not doubt in the least that he was due for quite a beating when he went back home.
What made him think I could do this alone…? I-I need someone to help me….
His fastened breathing was able to see quite clearly in the air; turning another corner he perked a bit in being able to see the mansions front door in his sight. At last! He sniffed as he rubbed his chill-nipped nose with his mitted glove before speeding up to the front steps, skipping a few at a time as he knew the errand nightmare would soon be over!
Diing-dong
Raivis gulped dryly as silence had first responded to the doorbell. … Is he not home? If that’s the case… what am I supposed to—
“Hello!”
Never mind.
The blonde Canadian smiled warmly at the younger country, happy having company over at all at this point. “It’s nice to see you Raivis… is Ivan with you?”
Raivis shakily shook his head, shoulders trembling at the thought of his master but slowly stopped at the feel of warm air coming from inside. Warmth… he almost forgot how it felt at this point. “…N-no... I-I’m sorry…”
Matthew chuckled softly at the others hesitance about the mention of Ivan, but he stepped back in order to motion him inside. “Come in, come in! You must be freezing out there… I can make you some hot chocolate or something!”
The younger blonde blinked at the kindness but came right inside obediently, a flicker of a smile showing at feeling of warmth that had escaped him for so long. So much warmth that he had to slip off his mittens and undo a bit of his fluffed coat, his hands beginning to sting from the sudden change of temperature. “Y…Y-you don’t have to if y-you don’t w-want to…”
Matthew shut the door behind him, passing by Raivis to head to the kitchen to go get some hot chocolate before glancing over his shoulder. “It’s no trouble!” He called out, noticing from what he could see from the door frame that Latvia went over to a nearby chair to take a rest.
Raivis sighed as he slumped his shoulders, even it was very warm, he was still trembling at troubling the man with his own needs. He slid his hands in his pockets, perking as he recalled his original errand there. He pushed up from his chair, heading into where Matthew went, slipping in there quietly before shakily giving him the letter. “M-Mr. Ivan told me to g-give this to you…”
Turning from the stove of the pot of water, it was obvious how Matthew’s face began to turn red was that he probably knew what it was about. “Eh... really? Wh...Why?”
“He’s on official business so he’s not able to contact you f-for a while… so he sent me to give this to you.” What did he send me out here through all this shit for…?
Matthew quickly went over and took the letter, opening it up with little hesitation before unfolding the neatly folded piece of paper and reading over it. He pushed his glasses up as his face began to turn almost as red as his sweat shirt, pulling back his curl to read it better. “..Oh Ivan…” he murmured in a sweet tone, practically shying away from it.
“..What?” Raivis came forward a bit to try to glance at the paper Ivan told him specifically not to read, but it wasn’t like he’d know anyway. Though upside down, it was easy to decipher some of the mixture of English and Russia language, adjectives complimenting the Canadian and lovey dovey words were scrawled continuously on the paper and how he’d miss him since he would be gone for a while on the trip. Was that it?
A simple fluffy letter was the reason why he had to go through hell to get to the main house of Canada?
A simple fluffy letter was the reason why when he returned home he would have to have another few darkened blotches of black and blue to explain to his brothers and trouble Toris with blood in the laundry?
Bullshit.
“I…I... h-he’s going t-too…” Raivis’s chin trembled as his step went side to side, his head beginning to go very light at the thought of what was going to happen to him later on. This was just... too much!! I’m going to die of a heart attack or be beaten to death before the age of twenty! Bald at twenty-five if this keeps up like this… I…
“Raivis?.. Raivis, you look pale. Maybe you should lie down...”
