[Russia x Latvia Part Three] A shorter chapter :)
Title: Nothing I Want More
Author:

Rating: PG
Warnings: Mild Language this chapter (at best)
Notes: Third part in a fanfic I did not believe would be so ongoing.
I really was not planning at first on making anything PAST the second chapter but, you all liked the story so much I thought I would attempt to wrap it up. This is part three and there will be a part four, five, and HOPEFULLY six will be the ending.
He felt like a ghost sitting amongst the colorful environment of the living whenever he sat in a room now. Three weeks had passed since the life altering event that occurred in Russia's basement, and not a word was uttered about it to anyone who had no business knowing. Today Latvia was present for another summit meeting keeping to himself as was usual but, deep inside his mind tugged and pulled wanting to reach out to the others. He wanted to let them know desperately what was done to him so somebody could help. Ivan made it very clear the morning after though.
"You tell anyone and I will not promise your safety..." Is what he stated in an eerie sing song voice. That statement was all the encouragement Raivis needed to behave himself. No one could possibly fathom the mental damage of having to keep such an enormous volume of pain inside. Fidgeting in his seat a little bit Raivis wrung his hands together and glanced casually over at Lithuania and Estonia. How much did those two know? They were in the house when it happened but, because it was in the basement did they not hear anything? Hanging his head down the blond haired boy took a deep breath to calm himself and supress any tears that were threatening to form.
"Latvia you have been quieter than usual lately, are you ill?" England inquired glancing up from his warm cup of tea. Latvia barely even heard the man speak, looking up a moment later in a delayed reaction.
"Yes I have been feeling---a little ill but I will be fine." He answered with a small smile. England lofted a brow and shrugged it off getting back to his tea. Latvia sighed and rested his cheek in the palm of his hand trying to act casual, natural, like nothing had ever happened. Yet there were so many people here that were within his reach to sneak a chat with after the meeting. So many he could confide in to help him get out of the mess he had been landed in. It was impossible though seeing as Ivan was now always watching and mindful of who Raivis spoke to. Oh but he was all the more free to entertain various small plans of escape in the back of his mind a place Russia could not touch.
"Latvia you need to perk up a bit it's a lovely day." The boy shook slightly when he realized the voice speaking to him belonged to Ivan. With the eyes of a beaten child he looked up at him and gave a slow nod.
"Y--yes of c---course sir."
The conference let out as such and Latvia stood up exiting swiftly but not curiously so. He just needed a moment to get away from Russia, just one moment at least. The wide halls of the building seemed like a vortex as he stood in the threshold of one staring down blankly. Many thoughts crossed through his mind for the past three weeks concerning his current situation. Of course nothing could really be spoken but, there were questions in his mind that he wished to ask to Ivan. Things that he had been pondering for many many years prior but just very recently his morbid curiosity was amplified. The man known as Ivan Braginski, Russia, was as tumultuous and chaotic as the very country he embodied. Nothing about him was as set in stone as certain people would like to believe or make themselves believe. The lack of understanding from many that he was indeed a cruel man was evident in how he was treated three fourths the time.
Raivis knew better as did Eduard and Toris.
The man known as Russia was an enigma wrapped in conundrum and there was no simple way to explain. In light of the horrific scenario that played out Raivis was almost curious in a way. What deep seated emotional turmoil would drive a person to act out irrationally in that way? Not that he was going to forgive Ivan even if he knew but, it was almost perplexing to think that someone could just wake up and decide it. Something else was rooted there, had been, for many years and it showed it's self in different ways depending on the man's moods. All three of the residents of his home had seen him at his best and only Raivis, and perhaps Toris had seen him at his very worse in different ways. When he was at his best he was intimidating at best but not so bad to be around. When at his worse Ivan was like a terrible tempest that would uproot everything, smash anything, and not care too deeply if he hurt someone on the physical or emotional level. To him it was all like a game it must have seemed like. Just like when a child got a new toy, or a set of toys, and he or she really really liked them so they never wanted to get rid of them.
So then they were like living breathing toys that Russia loved to play with. When a child plays they make up their own world with their own rules. Raivis remembered being a child once and playing pretend as he ran about the woods laughing and having adventures. Where you believe that everything is as it should be in your world, that you're happy, and everyone in the "story" was content where they sat too. No one could defy you, mistreat you, and everything you dreamed of having was there in your head projected out as you played. So then ........what about Ivan? Latvia wondered was he ever able to play as a child and experience the world of pretend and differentiate it from the world of reality? These were the sorts of questions he had always wanted to be answered but, did not know who to ask and was certainly not about th ask Russia himself.
"Raivis you are standing there like a statue we are leaving." Lithuania came up behind him and placed a hand on his shoulder. Instinctively he jumped.
"O--oh s--sorry okay I was just thinking." The boy replied following Toris down the hallway.
Should he ask him? Maybe he knew something about the questions he had or even Poland? If he was going to ask any questions concerning Ivan what so ever he had to do so privately, and definitely not right outside the doors of the meeting room.
The air of the Braginski home that evening was certainly tense as all sat to eat. Estonia ate his food quietly and said nothing for the longest time. Lithuania was quietly conversing between bites to Russia only because the man had spoken to him first. Latvia ate his food slowly without so much as glancing up at the table's company. What he was contemplating earlier bugged the heck out of him and against better judgment he wanted to find out more. Curiosity struck only because he wondered over and over what would make a man, or anyone, act the way Ivan did. There was something almost nonsensical about it only because no one really gave him a reason to, he just wanted to be that way.
The dinner ended without any consequence and everyone filed off into different directions. Raivis glanced over when he saw Ivan pull Lithuania aside and speak to him. The look on the brunette man's face spoke volumes that Ivan was stating something rather foreboding. Was he going to tell the other two about what he did? Maybe as a way to threaten them and keep them from acting up as well. Before he could head up the staircase however in three long strides Ivan came over and grabbed Raivis's wrist gently.
"Be mindful Raivis I have been keeping an eye on you." Was all the man said before letting go and sauntering into the kitchen to grab a bottle of Vodka. Slightly confused and worried over the comment he made his way upstairs much quicker.
