Beta'd by: Unbeta'd
Short Author's Note: Due to never having been to Hungary or any of these places, there won't be a huge amount of details on what they do or see.... I'm sorry....
After quickly writing in her journal, brushing her teeth and checking her hair Leith ran downstairs to meet with Hungary. After examining her, she concluded that her clothes were getting too small, and murmured something about her brother's frugality. "We'll go shopping while we're out." She said with a smile.
As nations they could travel much faster than humans if they pleased (how else do you expect they get from place to place so quickly?) but they decided to walk at a normal speed. They had a whole month, so they could take their time.
Leith had never had a 'Girl's Day,' as Hungary had put it, so she was excited as they walked hand in hand through Budapest, Chocolate in her arm that wasn't with Elizaveth.
The growing nation continued their conversation from earlier, asking her to continue about having a crush. "Well, I suppose enough time has passed....
"Actually, thinking on it I probably mistaught you." She said, while they entered a simple tourist shop. Liechtenstein was familiar with the sweets in it, her nation, Hungary's, and her brother's having strong German and Austrian influence. "Crushes are for children. You're growing up."
Leith looked up from a rather colorful display of candy to Hungary where she was looking at cameras. "What do you mean?"
"Well, children get crushes. You're probably feeling love more than anything."
She knew what love was. But...from what she knew of love, it didn't feel like this. Sensing her confusion, Elizaveth continued. "There are lots of different kinds of love. There's familial love and deep love and, I guess, 'regular love.' Which is what you feel. Or perhaps what you think you feel."
She looked rather unhappy at the thought of her mind tricking her into thinking such a deep sounding feeling. "Well..how do I know if it's true love?"
Hungary smiled. "It's hard to tell. You may never know, or you may know after being with them a while."
"Do you love Herr Prueßen?"
The question caught her off guard. Her first response was to say 'no,' but.... "I-I don't know. I think I feel something for him."
"Do you want to?"
She pouted a little. "I...guess? I mean, if all we did and do was just...."
She smiled and nodded. It was okay, she thought she understood. "I hope I'm not asking too much...is there anyone you're sure you loved? Or anyone else you love the way I think I love the people I do...?"
Elizaveth smiled and nodded. "While our marriage wasn't the best thing, I have to say Austria." She looked a bit far off as she said this, probably thinking back to the days of their empire, or something of the sort. Something made Leith hold Chocolate closer to her. 'But...I love....'
She didn't let the thought dwell as they began leaving the shop, camera in hand, a green similar to that of her bear. She went back to enjoying the sights, learning the history and the culture of the Hungarian girl. "And now...time to do something fun!"
Leith looked at her curiously as she took her hand and began leading her somewhere else. This time, they walked faster than normal speed to get to Hortobágy, even if they didn't have to rush. "Wh-where are we going?"
"Hortobágy Park!" She exclaimed, the wind making her hair dance behind her as they ran. It wasn't long before they reached the place, slowing as they neared it. Leith looked at it in amazement, birds flocking everywhere, birds she'd never seen or only seen in pictures. She was completely fascinated as they went through the park, Hungary acting as her guide through the better parts of the park, birds, cattle, horses, anything that she found intriguing being shot in pictures by the little nation.
After spending a long day there, they spent time in one of the inns, having dinner. After explaining that dinner wasn't an especially big meal in Hungary, that lunch was larger and more important, she told her that she could eat as much as she wanted, and encouraged her to try as much as she wanted, but leave room for something else. After eating and chatting about whatever came up, if she was having fun, what they could do the next day, most anything Elizaveth started again. "Liechtenstein, how old are you? Er..human years."
Placing a hand to her cheek and leaning into it slightly, she thought and replied. "Perhaps...13 or 14?"
Hungary hummed in frustration. "Well, you can get away with it, because you're a nation. Well, I've been told that a must while you visit my house is~"
Before she knew it, the waiters were bringing several glasses of wine and wineglasses. She held her hands to her mouth, surprised as they started pouring the wine into the glasses for them.
"Wine tasting~" Elizaveth smiled, taking up her glass. Leith examined how she did it, imitating, while shuddering, "e-a-am I really allowed to...?"
"While alcohol isn't part of every adult's lives, it is for a lot of adults. Also, it's good to know if you have a taste for it or not."
"Well, Big Brother never let me...."
"He's restricting your maturing." She sneered before drinking the red liquid. "You don't have to have a lot, especially if you don't like it. Just try it, though."
Her smile was encouraging, and that spark of teenage rebellion lit in her again. She shook a bit as she drank, the feeling and taste quite new to her.
After tasting plenty of types of wines, Leith was shaking a bit more, her face was flushed, and her smile was a bit wobbly. She would giggle at most everything and jump with a grin to drink more. Literally jump a little in her seat. She was whispering to Chocolate, who, according to her, didn't want any wine and didn't want her to drink too much more. She pouted at him and called him mean and told him that he was like her brother and didn't want her to grow up. Of course, by a bear's standards, growing up is bad because they're left and forgotten. Of course, bears can't think, thus that is simply speculation.
"I-I'm sheepy...." She murmured, cuddling her bear now, before drinking what was left of the wine and telling Hungary what she thought of it in slurred German. Hungary smiled and laughed a bit. "We should go to bed, then."
"B-but...."
"I don't want you to have a hangover or anything in the morning. We can see more of the park, then go home and relax tomorrow, if you're up to it."
The younger girl frowned, but nodded. When Elizaveth helped her up she clung to her and didn't let go. Luckily, the brunette had taken the precaution of reserving them a room. She rubbed her back as they went upstairs and into their room, however, Leith didn't want to let go of her. So they ended up lying together in the same bed, Leith sleeping relaxingly, or trying to. Hungary was surprised when she felt the girl's tiny hand on her chest, fondling curiously. She pushed her hand away, and scolded her a bit. She apologized, but simply moved on to snuggling her face into her bosom and clinging to her shirt, wishing her a good night, and falling asleep. Reminded of Feliciano when he was a child, she allowed this with a slight pout, then a smile, placing her hand gently on the back of the blond's head. She followed her to dreamland soon after.
Ehehe, I'm sorry about the chapter being so crappy and about it being late. Can you tell I'm making it up as I go along? Anyway, thanks for continuing to read, I'm sure the next chapter will be out sometime tomorrow or sometime. You're still free to make suggestions and stuff.
