[FANART] WHEN THE COLD WAR MEETS THE FILM INDUSTRY...

Ok, this is my first time posting fanart anywhere. And I mean first time ever. I'm so nervous...

But, here we go!

Character(s) or Pairing(s):
USA, UK, Russia, Lithuania. (+ Ukraine)
Rating: G
Warnings: crappy art boxing outfits and naked male upper bodies. Yes. Boxing. Possible lulzz. And big-ish pictures!
Summary: So I was watching this movie yesterday and...

...this happened.

Uhm, yes. I HATE THEIR CLOTHES, Liet, what the heck are you wearing? ...but that's not the point here :D
Liet's really afraid that Ivan might lose. (...he doesn't like angry Ivan...).
Aaaand Arthur really looks like he doesn't want to be there, but he still is! We all know he looooves Alfred~

Anyway, about the film, Rocky IV. You all should see it if you haven't already! My history teacher actually showed us some clips from it, for the movie represents the American view on the cold war so well.  I found the film hilarious (though it's hard to say why, it probably wasn't supposed to be :D). The antagonist is a HUGE Russian called Ivan Drago, and I just couldn't help but think about our own Ivan.

So, this happened. I'M SORRY. But I had fun drawing it.

For an extra, here's Ukraine dressed as Finland.

I messed up her hair, oh dear.

I've actually lived my whole life in Finland, but my dad's family comes from Ukraine. I look just like my grandmother (who died when dad was just a kid) who was 100 % Ukrainian. Soooo that's why Ukraine!

That's all for now. I love you all~!

Those boxing pants have to be the best things I have seen in my life. XDDD And Russia boxing in a scarf amuses me a lot for some reason. XD

I-I'm a hero... right?

I must break you, yes?

Oh, I am slain. :D :D :D

Gotta say, I'm loving their... boxers (+ Lithuania's and Arthur's expressions about the whole ordeal).

I only saw half of it at school, but I found it hilarious too. xD I suppose certain parts were just too forced and/or exaggerated to not laugh at?

IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!! *continues singing*

I bet all my money Us will become one with the floor, the chair, Lithuania and everything Russia can use to hit him Russia after this <3

[identity profile] riot-of-flowers.livejournal.com 2008-11-25 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
In Russia you don't throw Lithuania to America, Lithuania throws him self to him!

And Russia would probably rocket launch him.

Poor Lithuania, he needs to get into a Wife Swap Country version: Italy and him exchange places for two weeks.

The first week they live by the current rules and Italy suffers from Russia's brutality, and Germany gets surprised at how handy Lithuania can be (He does stuff!)

The second week rules change and nothing happens at Germany's place but at Russia's... If Italy has survived, then either things remain the same or Russia decides to use Italy as a secret weapon against America (he is better than the cold war paranoia!).

At the end of week two both Italy and Lithuania cling to Germany's legs and beg not to be sent to Russia.

...

Damn, now I feel pity for Lithuania o_o

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF "I must break you, yes?" Win....

Works for me. :)

[identity profile] vashtan.livejournal.com 2008-11-25 08:07 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm just a horrible horrible Dolph Lundgren/Russia fan - which is ironic, as Dolph's very clearly Swedish and looks nothing like a Russian. But as long as he gets his kit off and plays Russkies, I'm happy. (I have to admit I know the whole dialogue of "Red Scorpion" by heart. And it's not because it's such good dialogue...)

*snuggles* Thank you!!! *hugs again* <3 You honor me with wanting to doodle this silly idea that popped out from this melted brain after an overdose of gatorade to survive the heat *wishing she was typing from inside her fridge* I'm glad I was useful for something <3

<3333333333333333333333333333333333 Poor Liet, I feel for him, I mean, his life must be like an everlasting play with all the violins playing in the back of his head, the light on him and some sakura petals falling near him just because Japan was passing by...

(Rocket launch him!!! Ten points if it hits america's ego, tell you, it won't miss it! Unless he uses UK's ukeness as a barrier and then we are so screwed)

*hugs* <3

You are most welcome, I live to serve <3 And thank you for developing such idea in my melted brain with your artwork <3 *hugs*

Even though, if I were you UK I would go away unless America decides to use you as Captain America's shield

O-Oh god. As a fan of cheesy 80s movies and a staunch defender of VI as the BEST ROCKY EVER I love this automatically. You can't not love the cheesiness!

Alfred: We can ALL CHANGE!!
Cheering Crowd: *cheers*
Ivan: *muttered Russian profanity*

I'm totally listening to 'Burning Heart' right now. (My favorite part was Apollo Creed's tacky all-American stage show before his fight, the Russian's being all '>_>;;;' and then the huge fanfare before Rocky's fight in Russia. HI-LA-RI-OUS.)

Their outfits slay me here. I mean... damn. DAMN. XD

[identity profile] mighty-mu-mu.livejournal.com 2008-11-25 09:37 pm (UTC)(link)
No joke, I cried after Ivan killed Rocky's rival-turned-friend Apollo. UWAAAAAAAA

And it was even right after that dorky show with "Living in America" playing. Damn I cry at everything.

Thankfully in the sequel Rocky beats the shit out of him to "Eye of the Tiger". (What? I was little at the time.)

;_; (Stallion!)

Lol but yeah. I like those shoes, heh heh.

I hope Ukraine starts to appear in the manga. Eventually.

I MUST BREAK YOU, YES? 8)

Aw, but the acting was better in Rocky VI (Rocky Balboa). Actually, I've never been able to really sit down and watch the sequels straight on. I've seen some of II, some of IV, I think I saw V all the way through.

(Okay, and Rocky VI made me cry. A lot.)

[identity profile] vashtan.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Well, he plays a lot of Russkies (and writes himslef Russkie parts ... like in the film he directed and wrote, he was basically Nicolai from Red Skorpion 15-20 years later). :)

Get your hands on Red Scorpion. Dolph's never looked better (even though he was taking steroids back then, but every action star did). I use him as a character model for my writing a lot. :)

BWAHAHAHHAHA xD I love the first pic xD

Oh Alfred!!!! I love it when he acts like "everything will be okay, right daddy?" to Arthur xD Ivan is always freakishly adorable xD And oh Liet! ^^; Angry Ivan is indeed scary ^^;

[identity profile] nivell.livejournal.com 2008-11-26 10:49 am (UTC)(link)
DRAAAGGOOOOOOOO!!!

I was seriously in love with Drago when I first watched Rocky IV. Now, whenever I have the time, I borow the video just to see Dolph's lovely ass. Mrrarw. Drago was the epitome of MAN. Haha.
