Summary: Crime AU. Ludwig has gained a reputation for being a prodigy, one of the youngest investigating lawyers the country has seen. His newest case is the brutal murder of a number of the Braginski crime family's underlings, an act of apparent revenge. Ludwig's ideals and sense of justice are called into question when he learns that the perpetrator is Gilbert.
Author's Note: This AU could also be considered a life-on-the-streets AU. Even though the Ludwig/Gilbert relationship is what inspired it, it will revolve around a number of other characters as well. Other central pairings will be Alfred/Ivan (a police captain and the heir of the local crime family) and Francis/Arthur (a courtesan and a local tavern owner). Inspired by the song Alive With the Glory of Love.
