What kind of fandom activity do you do? Mostly I write fic! That's my main thing. But I also run the Nordipalooza fanwork fest, maintain the Nordic kink meme index, and admin the Hetalia Fans Guild on Habitrpg.

What kind of things can be found on your lj/tumblr/etc? I talk about fic I plan to write, and also about my other fandoms. Also about books/movies/games and things like that. A little bit of rl-stuff too.

Other fandoms: Valiant Hearts (this is my main secondary fandom right now). Also Anno 1790, Legend of Zelda (mostly OoT and ALBW), and Osamu Tezuka's Black Jack. I also like Shingeki no Kyojin and Vinland Saga but I'm way behind on both. And I'm into the Aubrey-Maturin series but I've only read a couple of the books.

Non-fandom interests: Knitting, travel, learning Norwegian, power metal (especially Sabaton), history (lots but mostly Canadian, Nordic, and generally 17th-century, WWI, & WWII)

I ran the heta-minders tumblr (before it was deleted) which was random canon hetalia facts. By next October I'd like to finish my Nyo!Itlay cosplay. And, of course, reblog fanart.

What kind of things can be found on your lj/tumblr/etc? Hetalia, Homestuck, and some other animes/webcomics. It's a grab bag really.

Anything else? Just adding on to the discussion in the previous thread... I would agree that tumblr is where most of the old hetalia members are now, and I'm there too, but I think that most people now are in other fandoms, and so tumblr is a place where you can get multple fandom related things. I'd be hard to get people back unless they are still interested in hetalia, and I'm afraid it might have been too long... If this comm became dead, it'd be too sad for me to think about, but I'm glad that there are still many people who come here.
I still check the main hetalia comm and go to the fandomly comm, which is still pretty active except most of the talk is not hetalia related =w= We always love new people! You can talk about whatever fandom stuff you want ^^ (lol advertising)

(Making fanwork, lurking update posts, etc): I used to write fanfics (I still do, I just haven't published anything in almost a year due to life), but I'm an admin for International-Relations (http://international-relations.tumblr.com/) and I talk often with lovely Hetalians such as yourselves : ) I also go to meet-up events like Hetalia Day and I go to nearby conventions usually dressing up at a Hetalia character for one day.

What kind of things can be found on your lj/tumblr/etc? My LJ profile I don't really use, but again I'm going to try to be more active here. Personal tumblr is a mix of fandoms/things, and I-R is all Hetalia.

Other fandoms: DISNEY... yeah, that's about it, lol. I dabble my feet here and there in fandoms like Free! and Doctor Who, but I'm not nearly as into them fandom-wise as I am with Hetalia or Disney.

Other fandoms: tokusatsu shows (Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, GARO even before the anime started airing, although I need to watch more Ultraman stuff...), TeniMyu, and Sasuke/Ninja Warrior fandom is mostly where I lurk currently (Sasuke is probably where I've been most active recently, back when Sasuke 30 aired over the summer). I'm into Yowamushi Pedal and Once Upon a Time (the only US show I'm interested in that I'm home to watch, since I'm always off from both jobs on Sundays), but haven't checked out the fandoms for either. I'm a very behind Doctor Who fan as well - I still need to watch the current season, but I'm still a lurker on mailing lists for some classic Who stuff.

Anything else?: That's pretty much it. I'm a possibly-near-to-being middle aged geek girl. (g) There are folks who deny that 40 is the start of middle age nowadays, hence the possible bit there, although the fact that I had to get glasses this fall because my eyesight started degrading because of my age edges me to believing 40 still counts as middle aged. I'm not kidding - as you get to around 40, your eyes can't adjust to trying to focus at different stuff as fast as they could when you're younger, hence why that's when people start needing reading glasses, or my case full-on regular eyeglasses - I'm farsighted in both eyes to different degrees, with mild astigmatism in one eye, and the eye doctor told me that I was probably like that all my life but when I was younger I could compensate. Not anymore... but, hey, thanks to a kid who thought I looked like Harry Potter because of the style of glasses I have, I figured out what to wear to work the next day for Halloween when giving out treats to kids. (g)

What kind of fandom activity do you do? I run Hetarchive (tumblr), I help out hetascanlations (mostly typesetting, minor translating/editing), I help out on the wiki sometimes, I help run the San Antonio Hetalia Day, and sometimes I do fanart and RP.

What kind of things can be found on your lj/tumblr/etc? As for tumblr, a fair amount of Hetalia usually. But sometimes some other things sneak in, like cats and other anime/cartoons, some social commentary I find interesting, my artwork, etc. But it's mostly Hetalia right now. My personal LJ tends to get used for venting. Sorry! I should work on that.

Other fandoms: Zoids, lol, but I have a separate tumblr blog for that. Honestly, Hetalia is the only fandom I'm really active in. ~~It takes up all my time.~~

Yeah, I look forward to socializing more here. Tumblr pretty much ruined online socialization for me, so it'll be good to be able to talk to people without being scared of backlash.

Re: YowaPeda and OUAT: ironically, the stage show casts made me cave in and watch YowaPeda, but I still haven't really watched those. LOL. As for the latter show, I'm okay with the season so far, but the spoiler going around about a villian for the second half is making wonder what's planned for that half of the year (if you like spoilers, you should find it by Googling - the pop culture diva at work asked me about it first thing, knowing that I love spoilers).

Re: the glasses: it was just a surprise having to get regular glasses, not reading glasses (I had been using those starting earlier in the year - oddly enough, I already owned a pair because of a cosplay I did years ago), since I didn't realize I had preexisting issues. Mind you, I hadn't had my eyes checked since I was a kid. (shrugs) It shouldn't have shocked me since both parents wear glasses and/or contacts.

Re: working at a library: it is completely not what anyone thinks it is like. Granted, I also work at a branch that is acknowledged through the entire state as being an aberration, since normally a library doesn't get busier if the parking is horrible (seriously - a referendum just passed to build 2 totally new libraries and either replace (for 3 branches) or renovate every other branch - the details for what's intended for the renovation of my branch were the same as for every other one its size, with one addendum no other branch had: improved parking), and we check out the most stuff in the entire state. (grins - friends who went to library school, and in were in classes where the professor knew where they worked, were specifically told that we're a fluke) There is a lot of work behind the scenes people don't realize until they work at a library that has to be done. Plus, there's the usual issues with dealing with the public. I was lucky - my mother worked at a different branch in the system, so I was warned before I started here (and, yes, specifically warned about my branch, and we weren't anywhere near as busy as we are now!). There are some good books out there now written by former and current library employees, and I can definitely say that I can believe every odd story in them. After the pair of (very nice, mind you) black panties found in a book... (g)

Anyway, libraries do have more to offer than books nowadays (music, movies, magazines, downloadable options, internet access, job searching help, classes, to name a few things). Odds are that your local library system has a website (and an online card catalog!), so see what they have to offer. Shoot, my system even has Hetalia: Paint it White! (And I would love to know who purchase requested it, since it wasn't any of the fans who worked in the system at the time... then again, I still want to know who purchase requested almost all of the Godzilla movies to thank him/her...)

(snorts) There's nothing wrong with being into yaoi at any age that can legally read/watch it! (If you're underage, then please have parental permission to be on the safe side, okay?)

(looks at where in Canada on your profile) I can't resist saying this... (probably bad attempt at a specific impression, since it's been 12 years since I lived in western and northern NY) I have some tickets to a Leafs game... (/bad impression) On a serious note, I do miss Tim Horton's and Canadian TV, since I tended to like more stuff on that than on American TV, go figure.

Is fandom going to rise like Ultra Mega Chicken? (ducks, and then bows in thanks for all you do for fandom)

It is easier to socialize here, probably because you can take your time to compose a reply and have it come out the way you want it to come across, if that makes sense.

More thanks for the team's work, and definitely ignore impatient folk. RL comes first, plus it takes time to scanlate, and if the amount of stuff to do right now between the event and the bi-weekly strips... (shakes head)

(long distance high five for the toku, Ishinomori, and old school anime/manga love - it's a good time to be an American fan, between the limited release of the Kikaider Reboot movie, even though the reviews I saw were meh, and the Shout Factory release of Zyuranger next February)
