Ahh I love Romano who loves Grandpa so much that he cries and won't take a picture with him, and all Romano's ~feelings~. And... is... is this Holy Roman Empire who is not Germany and who therefore tags along on Grandpa Rome's visits from heaven? Could this be Grandpa Rome drinking with Spain and talking about how cute Romano is because Romano has scorned them? Is this doujin basically a bunch of fun stuff that I've been yearning to see happen??

(I tend to do all the typesetting and stuff too in addition to the translating especially because somehow even then I'm still tweaking the translation and going "No wait, this would be better! And that would sound so much more like what I wanted to convey!" and adjusting the English to fit word bubbles, I assume that would be okay? Since you mentioned editing it...)

I always love HRE/Chibitalia, they are too heartwarming and too heartbreaking! I'm a little leery about promising that I'll translate something that I haven't seen, though--since I'm mainly using this as a hobby to try to learn some Japanese, so I like to pick out stuff that really grips my interest and that I can get the gist of by skimming and context (so I won't find myself so hopelessly stuck that I can't come up with a translation in the end). I just don't want to get someone's hopes up by saying that I'll do something, and then let them down for whatever reason after they've done all that hard work scanning, is all. But I'd definitely be interested in checking out that anthology whenever you feel like scanning it.

On an optimistic note: If it turned out to be the kind of project that wasn't suited for me, I'm pretty sure there are at least a few other people who are fairly active in the fandom/are more familiar with Japanese than I am/might be open to taking requests. It might take a little looking, but I think you could find someone either way. (I'd just hate to say up front "Oh yeah, you can count on me, I'm reliable, I'll definitely do this!" and then end up letting you down because of some problem I didn't foresee. It'd be a really jerk thing of me to do, and I'd hate to hurt feelings like that. So I just make all my apologies at the start, and I can give you a definitive answer after I've had a chance to look over it.)
