[Help Wanted] Item Guide
The Merchandise wiki's been up and running for a while now (We're on to month 7~), but it's not really making the fast progress that it needs, in order to actually play the role of a guide.
So~ I'm wondering if I could get a couple users to come over and help me get it up to date, before it's actively promoted to the fandom.
First, I'll need one or two people that are fellow collectors, like myself. This guarantees we have other users who've experienced the researching and hunting it takes to find out what there is of a character, and where to get it.
Don't collect a specific character? That's fine too. Following certain companies or item types will give you an edge I'm sure I lack.
Access to a camera, and at least a strong knowledge of what the items you own are, are mainly what I'm looking for.
I'll also need someone who can stay on top of the series' updates. So, obvious things like checking the news page on Hetalia.com or Gentosha Comics, but also looking around the different sites that sell Hetalia goods. Animate and Movic might be my own first stops when I'm hoping to find something new, but quite a few brands like GIFT and SOFT tend to keep to themselves! Someone who can track these new releases down before they sell out would be amazing to have around.
Knowing Japanese would be a bonus. Knowing how to translate Google to human is a fair substitute.
As a basic goal, I want the wiki to get up to date with at least all the items everybody's already familiar with. At the moment, even the most basic things like Movic plushies and metal charms haven't been fully updated. American merchandise isn't even seen, thanks to a lack of release dates.
The pages could be put up in a matter of hours, sure, but gathering all the data to fill them out? That's going to take some time.
So I'm hoping to find people who are willing to stick with this for months, not weeks.
Of course, at the same time, this doesn't have to cut into your days too much. Dedicate just a few hours a week, and soon enough we'll be all caught up~
I'm hoping for users that I can count on to not vandalize the site while it's still so small.
Also, while not required, being able to get on Aim every once in a while would be a great bonus, as far as planning things.
If you think you'd like to help out, or just have any questions, please comment below~
